Henry Augustine Minor papers [manuscript] 1864, 1876.

Letters, July 24 to August 2, 1864, written to his brother Lucian Minor, his mother, Frances Thacker Washington (Mrs. William Tompkins Minor) and to his sister Mrs. M. A. Moseley, all of Ala. Minor discuss his brother Peter, army life, Grant's 1864 spring campaign, friends in the army, "bright" prospects for peace, work as a surgeon, health, disgraced friend in northern Alabama who "took the oath," battle of the Crater, former slaves in the Union Army, and progress of Sherman's march. The collection also contains his reminiscences of the surrender at Appomattox.
